Roy Evan McConnell

Mr. McConnell has over eighteen years experience in the health insurance industry.  He started in the claims department of The Principal Financial Group in 1986 and moved into various positions of increasing responsibility until 1992 when he left for Wausau Insurance Companies.  While at Wausau, Mr. McConnell was responsible for increasing efficiencies, improving both quality and customer service within the claims operation.   He was instrumental in leading a team to develop and implement a front-end auto-adjudicating system.  In 1996, Mr. McConnell left Wausau to run the operations of a TPA (third party administrator) in Baltimore, MD.  Mr. McConnell joined United Medical Resources, Inc. in 1997.  At UMR, Mr. McConnell concentrated his efforts on process improvement.  This included increasing auto-adjudication by 47%; redesigning the enrollment process and implementing a web-based on-line enrollment solution; revamping the provider service loading process; serving as HIPAA Compliance Officer; developing and leading Y2K claim system testing.   Starting in 1999, Mr. McConnell was responsible for all aspects of operational support including cost-containment, and management of the partners utilized.  In 2003, Mr. McConnell decided to pursue his devotion to cost-containment by creating Resolution Concepts.  The foundation of Resolution Concepts is to utilize technology and clinical expertise in developing a win- win-win solution for the payor, patient, and provider.  

Barbara Roberts

Ms. Roberts has over 15 years in the health care and cost containment arena.  She started in utilization management with the self-insured population in a TPA with its own PPO offering in Western Massachusetts.  While there, she was successful in assuring the quality of care and the appropriate utilization of services for both the in and out of network services.  After several years, she took her skills to
Harvard Pilgrim HMO managing both the delivery and cost of care for fully insured and self funded groups.  She was the lead for a pilot project aimed at managing acute hospital care and discharge planning for the commercial and Medicare populations.  In 1999, Ms. Roberts relocated to Texas where she worked with University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) on both the self insured and government product implementation for UTMB Healthcare Systems.  She later joined the development team for a private firm's cost containment initiatives.  She evaluated and developed a best practice program that integrated their cost containment products and services to benefit the payor market.  After 3 years of successful development and implementation of a suite of cost containment products, Ms. Roberts joined Resolution Concepts, LLC to lend her expertise to the development and marketing of RC's products and services.
